As you’ve probably heard by now, a man with a gun showed up at a “meet and greet” type gathering and shot Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and several others, wounding Giffords and killing six people, including a federal judge and a nine year old girl. In all, at least 19 people were shot.
Folks on all sides of the political spectrum are doing their best to assign blame to the other side. It’s happening on blogs, on Twitter, and on Facebook. The MSM is getting into the act too. It’s made easier because the videos on the YouTube channel of the accused shooter include rants that are all over the place. This permits people to use his words as a sort of political Rorschach test. As near as I can tell, his political alignment is “crazy.”
I’m going to make a leap here just for purposes of demonstration. Part of what the alleged shooter ranted about was government mind control. Representative Dennis Kucinich introduced a bill to ban weapons in space. In the definitions of banned systems we find:
(II) through the use of land-based, sea-based, or space-based systems using radiation, electromagnetic, psychotronic, sonic, laser, or other energies directed at individual persons or targeted populations for the purpose of information war, mood management, or mind control of such persons or populations;
The alleged shooter was concerned about government mind control. Kucinich introduced a bill to ban mind control rays from space. Using just as much logic as is in evidence on Twitter, the Blogosphere, and the MSM I could blame Dennis Kucinich, but that would be dumb. I’m not going to blame Kucinich, it would be silly to do so. Those doing Olympic Conclusion Jumping without any real information should stop being silly too.
