Big L Libertarian vs Small L libertarian

The subtitle on this blog says ‘A Small “L” libertarian Geek’s Hangout.’ Some have been asking in the last few days “what is the difference between a Big L Libertarian and a small L libertarian?”
There are lots of complex answers, but for me it boils down to this:
A Big L Libertarian is a being of exceptional ideological purity who builds magnificent theoretical constructs from that ideology. He then not only moves into that theoretical construct, but insists that we all move in too.
A small L libertarian admires the exceptional purity of the ideology and the beauty of the theoretical construct, but insists on living in the real world.

“[...] but insists on living in the real world”?
The “real world” has real big problems that could be solved with libertarian ideas. We could start by ending the drug war.
I would never argue that the drug war is a good thing. Aside from the issue of a person owning himself the drug war has had a corrosive effect on American society, beginning with no knock raids using military gear on the wrong home, a story that repeats every year.
Thank you for the lovely read, even if it did take quite a long time to complete reading. (English is not my mother language) May I ask where you get your sources from? Thankyou! Lynsey
With apologies to Dr Seuss.
I do not like this Uncle Sam,
I do not like his health care scam.
I do not like these dirty crooks,
or how they lie and cook the books.
I do not like when Congress steals,
I do not like their secret deals.
I do not like this speaker Nan ,
I do not like this ‘YES, WE CAN’.
I do not like this spending spree—
I’m smart, I know that nothing’s free.
I do not like your smug replies,
when I complain about your lies.
I do not like this kind of hope.
I do not like it. nope, nope, nope!
